My sister and I went shopping the other day. We were not shopping for anything in particular we just wanted to enjoy a day together. While we were shopping we ran into our oldest sister. She was looking for watch bands that did not have any kind of metal on them. She has developed severe skin allergies to metals. She breaks out in a rash that is painful and itches. She has tried leather watch bands but the metal face of the watch still causes her to break out. We told her that we would help her look.

We looked at several jewelry stores, but they did not have any watches that were completely metal free. It was lunch time so the three of us went to a restaurant in the mall to have lunch together. While we were waiting for our food I noticed the woman in the next booth was showing her purchases to her husband. She had a box that held several different watch bands and the face of the watch. I asked the woman if I could see the watch bands. They were made of fabric of different colors. They attached to the watch by running under the back of the watch so the fabric was between the back of the watch and your skin. The woman told us that she had purchased the watch bands at one of the large department stores in the mall. She said they had several left and that they were on clearance as an illustration.

After we ate our lunch we went over to the department store. They did have several of the boxes of watch bands left. Each box had six fabric bands. Some of the bands were of very decorative fabrics that would be used for evening wear, but there was also a leather band that came with the set. The watch sat on top of the band so that the leather was between the metal and the skin. Each band was adjustable by sliding the fabric through a plastic buckle. The faces on the watches varied. My sister liked the square watch face in one box but only liked two of the bands. The box that had several bands that she liked had a watch face with stones edging it, which she did not like. As we were looking at the bands and my sister was trying to decide the clerk started straightening the jewelry that was located on the table with the watches. She told my sister that she could create what ever combination she wanted of the faces and bands. She told her to pick out which six bands she wanted and which watch face and she placed them all in one box. She said that it was the last day of the sale so the rest were going back to the manufacturer in the morning. My sister ended up with a great bargain of six watch bands at eighty percent off once again.
