pink shirt it is important to note that01/24/2007 Have you ever seen a guy wearing a pink shirt out in public and when you look at him you know something is wrong but it takes a minute to figure out exactly what it is? It shouldn’t be a crime against masculinity for a guy to wear a pink shirt, but it’s because the color has such a stigma of femininity that it will probably never be entirely acceptable for a businessman to wear a pastel pink shirt with his suit. I'm glad you found my article. Sit back and relax and I believe you will learn a thing or two The strange thing is that blue has never been considered so masculine a color that women are stared at when they wear it. Blue is a completely acceptable color for women’s clothing, and I can think of at least ten items of clothing I have that are this color, not including my vast collection of jeans another example. Back in the eighties when fluorescent colors were big, a lot of guys wore fluorescent pink shirts. The shirts were surf tees or tank tops with gym logos across the front, but they never looked feminine. Now that fluorescent is out, and pastels are in, the color pink has pretty much disappeared from men’s clothing. And this is probably a good thing in light of the ... it is easy to see that. One of my favorite items of clothing is a pink shirt with the red sox logo across the front in gray. But when it comes to athletic clothing I would wear a blue shirt or a red shirt just as easily as I would a pink shirt. I consider athletic apparel unisex, but I can’t really imagine a guy purchasing a pink shirt to wear, even if it has the logo of his favorite sports team across the front. And then I think about all the teams with colors that are similar to pink like maroon and purple and I realize that those colors could have fallen under the same stigma as the color pink, yet they haven’t. I see lots of purple shirts made for men and I don’t even glance twice at a man wearing a purple shirt for example. I suppose once something becomes labeled as being feminine, it is then off-limits for men. Think about how many men you see walking around wearing lace trim on their clothes or with flowers embroidered into the material. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like that outside of an MTV show aired any time in the eighties. I guess pink will always be for the girls. Which is fine with me because while I like the color pink, I don’t think I’d love seeing my husband strutting around the house in my pretty pink Red Sox shirt while this was happening. on the contrary. I'm hoping that you found all of this interesting and helpful. The information you just read was pulled from many different resources |
