archery quivers put another way

12/15/2006

If you are a bow hunter, the better part of your gear is probably pretty standard. You have a compound bow, no doubt, as well as a set of arrows, cammo gear, and the works. But in my opinion, there is little room for self-expression in all of that. That is why your archery quivers are the place where you can really show where you are to the other hunters. Of course, you can do what everyone seems to do nowadays and by an expensive bow quiver, designed in camouflage that looks just like everyone else's. But why should you do that. You are, after all, a woodsman, and that means that it is really important for you to be at least a little bit crafty and good with your hands.

What you are about to read is the culmination of information from many different places and resources. I hope you enjoy it.

Why not sew your own archery quivers instead of buying them from some supply company. It is true that most archery equipment can be better manufactured in a company shop, but does the same really hold for the archery quivers? I don't think so. All they really are soft cases to hold your gear steady, so what is really the whole big deal about it? If you ask me, it should be a point of pride for every archer to go ahead and make his own quiver himself, without the aid of a factory. They are so easy to make with this in mind.

My absolute favorite way to make archery quivers is using an old pant-leg. Of course, it does seem obvious now that you have heard it, but most people would not think about such a thing themselves. That is why I actually have a patent on the pant-leg method, but if you are in it to make your own archery quivers and not to sell too many of them, I will not tell. It is pretty obvious. You just sew up the bottom of the pant leg, and then you use the thick rim of fabric at the beltline as a strap for the whole thing. If you want to make bow quivers, you can strap two pant legs together to do the trick quite nicely! So now you know just one of many many ways to make your own archery quivers. I hope that you have fun with it. It is the best way to really make the lovely and crafty sport of archery something that is all your own at that time.

This information was a culmination from many different places and resources. You should never just believe one resource and you should study a subject from a few different perspectives.
